Technical Services: Aerial Survey

The management of habitat, and wildlife often requires gathering data and assessing conditions throughout a vast and remote landscape. Using digital cameras and GPS data, geotagged imagery can be used to collect and analyze a huge body of data in an efficient and cost effective manner. Working with a number of conservation and land management groups, I have located photographed residual pool refugia in prairie streams, prohibited land uses in wilderness areas, forest health issues, and lot densities in rural subdivisions.

A slow-flying aircraft and digital cameras provide a cost effective and reproducable survey methodology which requires no additional observers.
